Hand stripping is a specialised dog grooming technique where dead, loose hairs are removed from the coat by hand, instead of clipping or trimming. It's primarily used on dogs with wiry coats to maintain the coat's texture, colour, and overall appearance. This method allows new, healthy hair to grow in naturally, preserving the breed's characteristic coat. This is an add on service to a dirty dog or mini groom and is charged per hour. Dogs hand stripped must be on a 4-6 week schedule
Mats and knots occur when strands of hair tangle and become solid, this can be mild to severe. Matting pulls on your pups skin, and in severe cases cause bruising, skin issues, rashes and irritation. The good news is we can shave your dog and start again! Please feel free to contact me, I will not judge you or your pet. Charged at $90 per hour, plus matted shave fee (which covers the wear on blades). This is a add on service to Bits, Bath, Booty - Mini Groom
These are add ons to above services, please feel free to ask if you have any questions
Terms and Conditions apply to all services
I love your cats too! I offer a limited amount of cat grooming services for your feline friend. These include de-matting small mats, bath, blow dry, trim nails and on more docile cats shave their belly and paw pads as part of a belly, bath, groom. You can also add a belly bath groom to your cats de-shed for an extra $15. Cats mat, thats a fact! However regular baths and a blow dry will ensure their coats are degreased and therefore help keep their tangles to a minimum

I do not like rushing your pet, so time varies. Depending on the coat condition and the temperament of your pet during their groom, it could be 30 minutes to 3 hours. The time varies on a number of factors such as what you would like groomed on your animal, the coat condition and how co-operative your pet is feeling on the day. Regular client's pets are usually faster as they will have minor matting, will be familiar with the grooming experience, and will know me. I will text or call you when your pet is nearly ready for pickup
Absolutely yes! Some animals require more maintenance than others and if you want a breed style, or asian fusion/longer legs etc hair cut on your dogs than you'll need to brush. For those double coated breeds brushing will prevent matting and will also mean less hair around your house. No brushy brushy, no fluffy fluffy!
Depending on the extent of the matting, yes. Matting fees do apply, both for matting and if you pet has to be shaved down. If your pet is too distressed or the matting too severe then clipping may be the only option. This will be discussed prior to clipping. Sometimes the most humane way forward is to clip and start again, I will not judge you or your pet if they are matted
Like children, your pet is probably going to be better behaved without you present. As pet stylists, we have sharp equipment and for your pets safety we need their entire focus. Therefore, it is best to go and do some shopping or grab a coffee down the road and I will text you when your pet is nearly finished
I will do my best, however due to obvious safety reasons I reserve the right not to groom any aggressive dog. I do have experience with aggressive dogs, and have on hand a range of kind safety muzzles where they can still drink and pant through although prefer not use these unless absolutely necessary. The only thing I ask from you is honesty if your dog has ever bitten you, family, another groomer, stranger, or another dog. There is no bad dogs! Only misunderstood dog behaviour
Pretty please no, if your pet is matting bring them in so we can help remove the mats safely, this is charged at $15 per 10 minutes for dogs and $20 per 10 minutes for cats. A de-matting fee is much cheaper then an emergency vet visit! Too often cat and dog groomers see and hear of animals bought into the vet or emergency vet because well meaning owners have tried to cut out mats and gotten skin instead! Professional pet groomers never cut out mats, we have a selection of special tools to de-mat, or we shave them out with clippers safely-never scissors! Apart from being dangerous, cutting mats out also leaves 'holes' in the coat
As pet groomers we are trained to cut hair safely and home hair cuts make our job very difficult for us to correct at times. Professionals are trained across many hours for good reason, if you feel the need to do some basic trimming on your pet please come and and see me first so I can show you, and discuss how to do so safely
I am fully accredited through nationally recognised training in ACM30122 Certificate III Animal Care Services Pet Grooming. This ensures your pets are well looked after to the highest possible standards. I also go to seminars, expos, take courses to further my education, and read the latest literature to continue my skills as a professional pet and dog groomer
We carry a variety of shampoos (the best quality professional ones we use), toys, and products for your pets. Check out our online store!
Sure can! All grooming appointments come with a nail trim, which will help to an extent. A extra service offered is nail grinding for dogs. I also offer 'soft claws' on your cats claws. They are a nail covering that is made out of a soft vinyl that covers your cats claws to prevent damage. They come in a variety of fun colours you can choose from too!
As soon as you get your dog home you should work on desensitising them to aspects of grooming such as brushing and touching their face, feet and ears to get them used to being handled. You can bring your puppy or kitten in for their first professional groom after they have received their vaccines. The earlier we start working on your puppy or kitten, the better! Your pet has likely got a lifetime worth of grooming ahead
It would be my pleasure. Please come feel free to contact me and I will send you some information on what to look for such as breeds, ethical breeding practices, health tests and what grooming requirements your chosen breed of dog will need
''My dog is hot, they need to get clipped' is not true for all dogs. I do not clip dogs that will not benefit from this service. I am happy to give you further information and discuss this with you, just contact me
Just like if you're late to the doctors, this may disrupt the remaining appointments for the day. Due to this we prefer not to rush our clients following your appointment. You may be able to downgrade depending on the time such as a BBG, or a more simple clip. You will however be charged as your booked appointment and if you still require a full haircut you will need to book in for a later date. To prevent all this disappointment, plan your trip ahead and aim to be early just in case! If I have the time I will do my best to accomodate you and your pet
